This is one of three barge loads of concrete that was once a bridge across the Escambia River on Highway 90. This bridge was demolished and a new bridge built in 2001. The pieces of concrete, some weighing over 50 tons, were shoved off the side by a Cat 966 Loader at the Escambia County Florida reef site which is approximatly 12 miles offshore Pensacola, Florida. She was purchased by Okaloosa County with monies provided by the State of Florida These photos were taken a little after 6:00 am. |
