Historical Photos of the Port of Pensacola

Port Photo

Mahogany logs were brought to Pensacola on board ships and offloaded at the Port. They were gathered into 'rafts' and towed to nearby Weis-Fricker Mahogany Company which had a saw mill on Bayou Chico. (Photo and information courtesy of John Appleyard taken from "Four Centuries .... a saga of Pensacola Port in action".)
