This series represents views of Pensacola Port taken Nov 18, 1997. Pensacola is centrally located on the North Gulf Coast and is convenient by rail or truck to much of the nation's heartland. As close to Chicago as to Miami, Pensacola is gaining popularity with shippers who are seeking a Port that gives a more personal service. The port reciently became a "landlord" operator and local & regional marine companies are working with the port to build a stronger customer base. A recent addition is the Pensacola Cold Storage Company, a shipper of frozen chickens and beef to Russia.
