Historical Photos of the Port of Pensacola

Port Photo

This drawing appeared in "Harpers Weekly" Magazine and shows activity on Pensacola's waterfront. Pensacola Port was a bee-hive of activity in the 1880's and 1890's. Pensacola Pine lumber was shipped world wide and many buildings still stand to this day with this great "heart pine" lumber. Many other cargoes such as cotton, coal and naval stores were also shipped from this thriving Gulf coast port.
